(Université Don Bosco,  Lubumbashi) – On Saturday, November 8, 2025, the university community of Don Bosco University of Lubumbashi (UDBL) gathered at the forefront of the Salama Technical Institute for the solemn mass to the Holy Spirit, marking the official launch of academic activities for the 2025-2026 year.

Presided over by Rev. Fr. Carlos Kabumba, sdb, this Eucharistic celebration was a time of prayer, communion and committing the academic year into the hands of the Lord. In his homily, Father Carlos invited students to experience a year of meaning and commitment, setting noble goals: to proclaim the Good News to the poorest and to work to liberate hearts and minds.

The assembly then invoked the Holy Spirit — the Spirit of intelligence, wisdom and love — to accompany everyone throughout this new year.

At the end of the celebration, the Rector of the UDBL, Father Jean-Luc Vande Kerkhove, officially presented his board of directors. The Academic Secretary-General, in his turn, introduced the permanent team and the student committee, in a spirit of collaboration and service.

This academic opening was a strong moment of faith, unity and commitment for the entire Salesian community.
