(St. Anthony’s College, Shillong) – The institution, St. Anthony’s College, Shillong, has launched a year-long formative initiative for its Catholic students titled C.A.L.L. (Catholic Animation for Leadership Learning), aimed at fostering leadership grounded in faith, spirituality, and holistic personal development.

Conceived and realized by Fr. Dr. K. J. Antony, SDB, the CALL programme emphasizes continuous learning that integrates leadership training with a deeper understanding of Catholic faith, spirituality, and personality development. Alongside structured sessions, the programme will include spiritual recollections, retreats, and animation activities conducted at the college extension centre in Siloam.

Designed as a three-year formation journey, CALL will be held weekly on Saturdays, primarily for Catholic students residing in the college hostels. The programme is mandatory for Catholic hostellers and is also open to other interested students. Complementing academic formation, CALL seeks to prepare students as committed Catholic leaders for their families, communities, and the Church.

The guiding motto of CALL—“To know Him, to love Him and to serve Him in this world and to be happy with Him forever”—captures its core vision. Its key focus areas include spiritual and personal growth, relational and organizational skills, and a strong sense of mission and identity.

The programme was officially inaugurated at St. Anthony’s College, Shillong, on 14 February 2026. The inaugural Mass was presided over by Victor Lyngdoh, Archbishop of Shillong. The event brought together the Salesian staff, the Sisters of the Mamma Margaret Hostel, the Vicar General of the VSDB Sisters Sr. Cecilia Sad and her assistant, as well as hostellers from Stephen Hall and Mamma Margaret Hall, including non-Catholic students.
