Nearly 500 New Leaders Ready to Make a Difference: Université Don Bosco,  Lubumbashi Celebrates 2025–2026 Graduating Class

 

(Université Don Bosco,  Lubumbashi) – On Saturday, August 8, 2026, Don Bosco University of Lubumbashi (UDBL) celebrated the academic graduation ceremony of the 2025–2026 graduating class. The milestone marked not only the culmination of a demanding university journey, but also the beginning of a new chapter for nearly 500 graduates as they enter the professional world and prepare to serve their communities.The solemn ceremony was held at the Faculty of Computer Science and presided over by Rev. Fr. Jean-Luc Van de Kerkhove, Rector of UDBL.

 
Distinguished Guests

The ceremony was honored by the presence of several distinguished guests, including:

  • Me Patrick Kafwimbi, Deputy Mayor of the City of Lubumbashi;
  • Rev. Fr. Guillermo Basañes, Provincial of the Salesians of Don Bosco (AFC) and Chairman of the UDBL Board of Directors;
  • Professor Emeritus Alexis Takizala, President of CEPESU.
 
More Than a Degree, a Mission

Beyond academic achievement, the celebration reaffirmed the heart of UDBL’s Salesian vision: to educate competent, ethical and committed citizens dedicated to the common good.

 

Amid emotion, pride and ambition, the entire university community came together to congratulate the 2025–2026 graduating class and wish its nearly 500 new graduates success as they begin this next chapter of their lives.
