(Institut Supérieur Don Bosco, Togo) – The Don Bosco Higher Institute (ISDB) in Lomé officially opened its 2025-2026 academic year with a Mass on September 26, 2025, in the Marie-Auxiliatrice Hall. Presided over by Fr. Eklou Kpossi Didier, Academic Director, the celebration emphasized perseverance and excellence, echoing the institute’s motto: Usque ad verticem (“To the summit”).
Following the Mass, Fr. Bernard Gaba-Dovi, representing the Chancellor, formally declared the academic year open. The inaugural lecture, delivered by Dr. Komlan Aziale, focused on “African Universities and the Challenge of Employability: The Future of Humanities and Social Sciences.” He stressed the need to align university education with societal needs.
Founded in 1986, ISDB is part of the global Salesian Higher Education network (IUS) and currently offers degree programs in Philosophy, Educational Sciences, Communication, and Marketing, all accredited by CAMES (the African and Malagasy Council for Higher Education). Over the years, the institute has built a reputation for forming professionals with strong ethical values, a commitment to social transformation, and the competence to thrive in contemporary society.
As ISDB embarks on this new academic year, the combination of spiritual grounding, rigorous scholarship, institutional partnerships, and a vision for employability sets a promising course toward academic excellence and social impact.
