Final year B. Sc students from Don Bosco College of Agriculture, Sulcorna Goa, under RAWE (Rural agriculture work experience) program organized a Blood Donation Camp together with the N.S.S. unit of Don Bosco College of Agriculture and North District Hospital, Mapusa (Blood Bank)

 

(Don Bosco College of Agriculture, Sulcorna) – Final year B. Sc students from Don Bosco College of Agriculture, Sulcorna Goa, under RAWE (Rural agriculture work experience) program organized a Blood Donation Camp together with the N.S.S. unit of Don Bosco College of Agriculture and North District Hospital, Mapusa (Blood Bank) on July 9, 2022 at Government High school, Gowthanwada, Ozarim-Pernem, Goa.

 

The students of the final year B.Sc. Agriculture program are deputed to various villages in groups through RAWE to organise need based demonstrations to the farming community over the period of six months duration.

 

Dr Sonam Gadekar and her team of six nurses were welcomed by the Government High school Headmaster Mamta Naik. Anant Betkekar, RAWE-student spoke on the occasion. NSS Incharge, and DBCA Physical Education, Sagar Palconda expressed the growing need for blood in the state and also provided some tips to blood donors.

 

The camp started with Asst Professor, DBCA, Rajan Shelke, and Asst Professor, DBCA, Satish Patil donating blood. The RAWE student volunteers were assisting the nurses and doctors in the registration of blood donors.

 

Totally 25 persons successfully donated blood, which included college and school teachers, village panchayat staff members, and village people. The blood donors were offered juice and snacks to energize themselves.

 

Finally, the blood donors were provided with the Blood Donor Card and Samarth Dhond, RAWE- student, proposed the vote of thanks acknowledging the efforts of doctors, nurses, blood donors, and volunteers.
