(Salesian College of Higher Education, Dimapur) – The annual gathering of young people from various oratory centers, parishes, and church units in Nagaland and Assam took place on November 3 at Salesian College, Dimapur, on the theme ‘Eucharist the way to Heaven,’ based on the Cyber Apostle, Bl. Carlo Acutis. Organized to deepen faith, strengthen community ties, and celebrate cultural heritage, the event drew approximately 500 participants. Brothers from the Salesian College community engaged these young individuals for a day of spiritual renewal, personal growth, and joyous celebration.
Immediately after the inaugural ceremony, Father Elow Samuel, the Rector of Salesian College, led the Holy Mass, a central event feature. In his homily, Father Samuel addressed the young people to embrace a life of purpose grounded in faith and integrity and strive to be saints like Bl. Carlo Acutis. Following the Mass, a communal lunch was served, strengthening the bonds formed and celebrating the joy of fellowship.
The brothers animated the participants for one hour, engaging them with interactive sessions and team-building activities to foster unity, teamwork, and leadership skills.
In the afternoon, Father Deli David SDB, the Vice Provincial of the Salesian Province of Dimapur, graced the cultural events as the chief guest, encouraging and blessing the young. The program featured traditional dances, songs, and performances in Nagamese and other regional languages, celebrating the cultural heritage and diversity of the participants. In his speech, Father Deli encouraged young people to use the digital age to proclaim Christ, just like Bl. Carlo Acutis. The organizers extend heartfelt gratitude to all who contributed, mainly the volunteers, clergy, and community leaders, whose dedication made it a memorable day.
