(Università Pontificia Salesiana, Roma) – During the General Assembly of the Conference of Rectors of Roman Pontifical Universities and Institutions (CRUIPRO), held in the afternoon of 17 June 2024, the rotation of the presidency of the Association took place: Prof. Fr. Luis Navarro, Rector of the Holy Cross, finished his term and the Assembly elected the rector of the Pontifical Salesian University, Prof. Fr. Andrea Bozzolo, SDB, as president for the next three years.
CRUIPRO, which represents the Roman universities and pontifical institutions, has the task of promoting cultural and scientific cooperation between the various institutions that are members of CRUIPRO, promoting common initiatives characterised by interdisciplinarity and trans-disciplinarity; collaborating in an ongoing manner with the Vatican Dicastery for Culture and Education and the Holy See Agency for the Evaluation and Promotion of the Quality of Ecclesiastical Universities and Faculties (AVEPRO) to promote the excellence and quality of its institutions; and performing functions of representation of its members to the Italian State and other international bodies.
Prof. Bozzolo expressed his gratitude to Prof. Navarro on behalf of the entire assembly for his competent, generous and wise service, and welcomed the new position with a spirit of service in this delicate phase of transition of the academic institutions of the Holy See.
“The academic community of our university looks with confidence to the future of CRUIPRO under the guidance of Fr Bozzolo, certain that he will be able to carry forward with dedication and competence the important work of the Conference at the service of the common good of Roman universities and pontifical institutions”, commented the UPS Social Communication Office.
