(IUS South Asia Conference, Chennai) – On November 30, the Day began with a wonderful group photo session with all the Rectors, Principals, and Directors who are participating in the ongoing IUS South Asia Continental Conference & Workshop 2022. The conference entered into Day 1 of the Leadership formation workshop. with Fr Michal Vojtas who offered the mass under the theme “Salesian Education Pedagogy”.
The First phase of the Leadership Formation Workshop animated by Dr Michal Vojtas, SDB Professor, Salesian Pontifical University under the title “Salesian Leadership and Project Management: General Framework for Higher Education Institutions”
In the Second session on the leadership formation programme Dr T. Arumugam Vice Chancellor, of Thiruvalluvar University, addressed participants and the discussion with them under the title “Core Functions and Activities of an HEI: Manage or Excel?”.
Also, on Day one of the leadership conference Dr Edwin George SDB, Rector, Don Bosco College, Dharmapuri animated the participants on the topic of The Academic Community as the Subject of the Salesian Mission at the IUS. The session gave a clear picture of What is the role of the Academic Community and its vitality in our HEIs
Later in the evening Fr Oscar Fr. Oscar Lozano SDB, IUS General Coordinator address us in the virtual mode under the title “The University Today: Validity, Challenges, Perspectives. An Educational –Pastoral View”. The session was split into three sections lecture reading, discussion and sharing. Participants took part in the session as groups. The input from participants made us think and rejuvenated our thoughts.
