(Istituto Universitario Salesiano de Venezia, Italia) – In alignment with its academic mission and Salesian tradition, IUSVE, with funding provided by the Fondazione Deutsche Post – Stiftung through Dr. Klaus Zumwinkel, has launched a project to provide financial support and professional integration for deserving students at IUSVE.
As part of this project, a call for applications has been announced for ten (10) scholarships to participate in the training program “Exploring Aging: Paradigms, Methodologies, Experiences.” This program highlights the importance of guiding educators and pedagogists-in-training toward the study of aging and its many educational and professional dimensions.
The program, developed in collaboration between IUSVE and the University of Macerata, is structured into three jointly conducted sessions in a blended format. The first two sessions will be online webinars, while the final session will be an in-person roundtable/workshop at the University of Macerata. The schedule is as follows:

• Pedagogy in Aging: Towards an Educational Approach in Old Age

• Presentations by: Maria Chiara Cianfriglia (IUSVE) and Rosita Deluigi (University of Macerata)
• Format: Blended (in-person at IUSVE with online access)
March 6, 2025, 17:00 – 19:00
• Challenges and Opportunities of Aging in an Inclusive Society
• Presentations by: Rosita Deluigi (Università di Macerata), Elena Luppi (Università di Bologna), Enrico Miatto (IUSVE), Irena Žemaitaitytė (Mykolas Romeris University)
• Format: Online
April 3, 2025, 14:00 – 18:00
• Roundtable/Workshop: Experiences of Care and Intergenerational Dialogue in Residential and Semi-residential Settings. Featuring initiatives like the Seniors Project in Monza, Social Enterprise Cambiamenti in Macerata, and the SmartAge project by the INRCA Institute, with additional guests to be confirmed.
• Introductions by: Rosita Deluigi (University of Macerata) and Enrico Miatto (IUSVE)
• Format: In-person at the University of Macerata, with departure on April 2 and return on April 4, 2025.
The program concludes with a 2-hour online debriefing session to be held by May 15, 2025 (exact date to be announced by December 2024).
The scholarships will cover participation expenses for activities at the University of Macerata, including classes, materials, campus visits, travel, and accommodation (shared rooms).
Participation in this program grants 2 ECTS, equivalent to 50 hours of internship credit for third-year students in the Bachelor’s programs in Educational Sciences (EPS and ESEI tracks) or for second-year students in the Master’s programs in Pedagogy or Educational Project Management.
