(ANS – Rome) – The canonization of the first non-martyr Salesian, in the person of Artemide Zatti, is an event that will draw thousands of Salesians, members of the Salesian Family, and Don Bosco sympathizers from all over the world to Rome next weekend. The Rector Major, Fr. Ángel Fernández Artime, has invited all Salesian coadjutors who wish to be present in St. Peter’s Square, all the Superiors of the Congregation’s 91 Provinces and Vice-Provinces, and also Salesian bishops, archbishops and cardinals. And always the Rector Major also invited all those who will not be able to be physically present to participate online in this great event. Here is how it will be possible to do so.
The main scheduled events will all be viewable via live streaming on ANSChannel (YouTube) and on the ANS Facebook page.
On Saturday morning, October 8, all the moments organized in the “Paul VI” hall at the Vatican will be broadcast live: the Mass presided by the Rector Major, beginning at 10:00 a.m. (UTC+1), the subsequent testimonies on Artemide Zatti, and finally the special audience granted by the Holy Father Francis to the Salesian Family. The broadcast of the various moments is scheduled in the original language.
On Sunday morning, October 9, the Eucharistic celebration with the rite of canonization will be made available both in the original language and with translation and commentary in English, Spanish, French, and Portuguese.
All these opportunities are made possible thanks to the collaboration between the Social Communication Department of the Salesian Congregation, “IME Communication” and the Vatican Television Center.
