(IUS) – The Don Bosco Global Youth Film Festival (DBGYFF) is back, offering a transformative experience for young people around the world. Organized by the Salesian Congregation’s Social Communication Sector, in collaboration with the Youth Ministry Sector, this year’s festival will take place on October 17-18, 2024.
The festival invites Salesian institutions to host the screening of 120 short films created by young filmmakers from over 110 countries. These films, selected from 1,287 entries, address the theme: “I Have a Dream: Youth and Climate Change – Making Mother Earth Cleaner & Greener.”
By participating, institution will:
• Promote Environmental Awareness: Students will reflect on global climate challenges and how they can contribute to a greener future.
• Inspire Social Responsibility: This event nurtures a sense of ownership for environmental stewardship.
• Celebrate Young Filmakers: Showcase the creative efforts of young people from around the world, motivating your students to engage in meaningful discussions.
Why Should IUS Institution Join? Hosting DBGYFF will not only provide a rich learning experience but also build global connections among young people. Through group discussions, creative expression, and critical thinking, students will gain valuable insights into climate action and sustainability.
The IUS network animates universities, colleges, and higher education centers to be part of this global celebration of youth creativity, environmental responsibility, and Salesian unity. Institutions can sign up today to receive materials and instructions for organizing the event at your institution.
