(Università Pontificia Salesiana, Roma) – A cycle of formation meetings dedicated to communication, promoted by the Pontifical Salesian University in Rome, will be held from 30 June to 4 July 2025. The seminar is divided into four independent modules, led by professionals in the sector, with the aim of offering concrete and up-to-date tools for planning and strategically managing communication within organisations, other bodies and institutions.
In the current panorama characterised by the rapid evolution of tools and strategies, continuous formation for those working in the field of communication is an unavoidable necessity. While it is essential to update one’s skills in order to effectively communicate one’s organisation’s values and projects, the “time resource” is increasingly precious. Hence the Faculty of Social Communication Sciences at UPS has devised a practical and targeted course, designed to meet the needs of those who are already immersed in the world of communication and wish to update their skills, as well as those who do not have sufficient time to undertake longer formation courses.
The course has been organised with those who are already involved in secular and religious organisations, bodies and associations in mind, and each module will offer concrete and immediately applicable ideas, enabling new strategies to be acquired and communication skills to be honed without disrupting commitments.
Here is the detailed programme:
Monday 30 June – Planning an organisation’s communication
The first module, by Simonetta Blasi, will be dedicated to planning institutional communication. From 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., key topics such as integrated communication, identity and reputation, defining objectives and targets, and the choice of tools and channels will be addressed. The module will also provide analysis tools for devising an effective strategy.
Tuesday 1 July – Communicating with images
The second meeting, led by Tommaso Sardelli, will focus on visual communication. Aspects related to the perception and effectiveness of images, the composition of visual space, the types and purposes of images, and copyright issues will be explored. Useful online resources for finding quality, royalty-free images will also be pointed out.
Thursday 3 July – Thinking, designing and realising audiovisual content
The third, led by Donato Lacedonio, SDB, will be held in an intensive format from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. and will be devoted to the creation of audiovisual content. Participants will be accompanied in the design and creation of videos, from interviews to short narratives, using light equipment such as smartphones and video cameras. The course will also include elements of editing and post-production, using apps and software such as Canva, CapCut and Instagram.
Friday 4 July – Designing and organising content for social communication
The cycle will close with the module curated by Flavia Brandi, focusing on communication on social networks. Operational tools will be presented for defining objectives, messages and formats, as well as ideas and formats for telling one’s story online. Space will also be given to the construction of an editorial calendar and good practices to organise work methodically and avoid the most common errors.
Through these courses, participants will be able to update their knowledge and skills for key roles in their organisations.
People can register for individual modules or for the entire course.
