(IUS, Rome) – General coordinator of the Salesian Institutions of Higher Education (IUS), Fr. Dr. George Thadathil, took part in the annual program hosted by the De La Salle University Global Network in Rome. The event gathers representatives from Lasallian universities worldwide in formation and dialogue, focused on advancing leadership in Catholic higher education.
The event gathered around 40 representatives from Lasallian universities worldwide. The Intercongregational Panel on Catholic Higher Education took place on May 27, where Fr. George Thadathil joined Javier Llamas, representing the Marist University Network and Germán Muñoz Díaz, representing the Jesuit University Network.
Together, the coordinators reflected on identity, shared challenges, and new paths for collaboration among university networks. A key point of discussion was the need for stronger mutual support and joint initiatives across congregations to better serve students and society.
The invitation to the event is significant as the Salesian University Network also prepares to participate in the Jubilee of Education from 27 October to 2 November 2025 in Rome, these spaces of formation and exchange are laying the foundations for a united, mission-driven contribution to global Catholic education.
