(Jabok, Czech Republic) – On April 2023, a solemn meeting and a professional conference was held in the Emauz Monastery on the occasion of the celebration of 30 years of Jabok Institute of Social Pedagogy and Theology´s foundation.
The founders of Jabok, former directors and the current director Hana Pazlarová all spoke during this important occasion of the institution. The celebration continued in the afternoon with a professional conference focused on People and their role in professions that seek to help in society.
Many esteemed and kind guests were also present during the celebration, among them the Senator of the Czech Parliament Mr. Pavel Fischer, our graduate and now Head of the Department of Expert Activities of the Cabinet of the Minister of Labor and Social Affairs Jana Skalkova, and Head of the Office of the President of the Republic Mrs. Jana Vohralíková, who unknowingly surprised us with her close bond to Jabok.
Since its inception, Jabok has been preparing graduates for work in the field of social work and social pedagogy. A smaller part finds work thanks to their theological training in the field of pastoral care. We have only been focusing on special education for a few years. Although further study is required for full qualification as a special pedagogue, our graduates often use their extended knowledge in the field of special pedagogy in practice, as they come into contact with children with various special needs as part of their work. We also get the same feedback from employers.
