(Don Bosco Simbu Technical College, Papua New Guinea) – With deep sadness, the Salesian Institutions of Higher Education (IUS) express profound sorrow over the passing of Fr. Edwin Genovia, the esteemed Principal of Don Bosco Simbu Technical College. The IUS network extends its heartfelt condolences to the DBSTC academic community, the Blessed Filippo Rinaldi Salesian province of Papua Guinea, as well as Fr. Edwin’s friends and family.
Fr. Edwin’s final assignment as the Principal of Don Bosco Simbu Technical College in Kumgi, Papua New Guinea, was marked by generosity in his mission of implanting Salesian charism and mission in the region. He recently had some health complications. Despite these adversities, Fr. Edwin continued in fulfilling his regular duties at the College.
Tragically, on March 5th, Fr. Edwin passed away due to health complications. The Salesian community mourns the loss of a Salesian family member, and the IUS network joins in honoring Fr. Edwin Genovia’s commitment to education and service. May his soul find eternal peace as we remember his contributions to the Don Bosco Simbu Technical College and Salesian community.
