(Salesian Polytechnic, Machida Tokyo) – Under the motto “Technology is about people,” Salesian Polytechnic (Tokyo Salesian College of Technology — SALESIO) places the foundation of its education not only on acquiring specialized skills but also on nurturing individuals with rich hearts . Leveraging the wisdom cultivated over its long history, the college aims to produce digital talent that will create new value for future society while supporting the hearts of its students.

An essential element of the school’s education is “social implementation education,” which applies what students learn to real-world society. As part of this, the school and Sagamihara City have signed a cooperation agreement to promote initiatives aimed at realizing a clean and comfortable society, such as sustainable urban development and the creation of a transportation environment where everyone can move around smoothly.

A prime example of this is the development project for the school’s original autonomous electric vehicle, “VISMO.” Students are responsible for system design, including vehicle control and image recognition, while the vehicle body is manufactured through industry-academia collaboration with alumni and companies. The project aims to realize a digital twin and promote practical development .

Furthermore, the school has implemented an educational approach that consolidates the fields of its four departments—Design, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical and Electronic Engineering, and Information Engineering—into a single Information Engineering department. A key feature of the school is its aim to further evolve its educational environment by integrating the extensive know-how cultivated in each field, enabling it to adapt to the demands of the future .

The appeal of this program lies in the five-year integrated education program that begins at age 16 after graduating from junior high school, where students can learn theory and practice through general subjects, specialized subjects, and a variety of activities .

This school allows you to cultivate both solid skills in handling cutting-edge technology and a rich personality that contributes to society. If you want to take a new step as a next-generation engineer, why not check out the full details of their curriculum here
