Volunteers from the Don Bosco Oratory and Unisalesiano University  delivering food baskets and an image of our Lady Aparecida to 50 needy families in the Água Branca

 

(UniSALESIANO, Araçatuba e Lins) – In celebration of Children’s Day and Our Lady of Aparecida, on October 12, UniSALESIANO delivered food baskets, bags of sweets, and pet food to 50 needy families that are being helped by the Oratory Dom Bosco, in the Água Branca neighborhood, in Araçatuba .

 

On the morning of October 12, volunteers from the Oratory, the Rector of UniSALESIANO, Fr. Luigi Favero, the Academic and Graduate Pro-Rector, Prof. André Ornellas, and some collaborators of the Institution, met at the branch of the Oratory, in the Parish of São Francisco and Santa Clara, for a prayer and speech made by Fr. Luigi before going out.

said the Rector, stressing the importance of solidarity, especially in this pandemic moment.

 

From the Oratory, the group divided into five cars to deliver the basic baskets, food, sweets, and an image of Our Lady Aparecida, in the homes of needy families. The Coordinator of the Physical Education department at UniSALESIANO, Professor Juliana Mitidiero, heard a family man say, “You do not know how important this help is at the moment we are going through, with high food prices, with the pandemic ”.

 

For Professor André Ornellas, the initiative from the Oratory is what every person should do. “Do good, always,” he said.

 

Oratory

UniSALESIANO is responsible for the Don Bosco Oratory, a social activity aiming to bring children and young people on Saturdays for recreational, training, cultural, and religious activities. Under the direction of the Institution’s Rector, Fr. Luigi Favero. The Academic and Graduate Pro-Rector, Prof. André Ornellas. is responsible also responsible for the project.
