(ANS – Rome) – The entire Salesian world, beginning with the Sons of Don Bosco gathered in Turin-Valdocco for their 29th General Chapter, is accompanying Pope Francis with prayers and heartfelt closeness as he remains hospitalized at the Agostino Gemelli Polyclinic in Rome.
With global media closely monitoring the Pope’s health, the Vatican Press Office issued an update early this morning, February 25, stating: “The Pope rested well throughout the night.”
In the medical bulletin released the previous evening, February 24, a slight improvement in his condition was noted: There had been no new respiratory complications. The oxygen flow had been slightly reduced. Test results showed improvement. His mild kidney insufficiency was not a cause for concern, according to the report. Despite his hospitalization, on Monday, February 24, Pope Francis resumed work and, in the evening, made a phone call to a parish in Gaza.
During these days of special concern for the Pope, the Salesians of Don Bosco—who, following their founder, have always nurtured a deep devotion to the Vicar of Christ—are organizing and promoting prayer vigils and spiritual initiatives worldwide. With a particular focus on involving young people, they are imploring the Lord for the gift of health for the Holy Father.
