(Don Bosco College, Yelagiri Hills) – Don Bosco Vazhikaatti – Chennai hosted the Bosco Employability Skill Training (BEST) Programme at Don Bosco College, Yelagiri Hills, on 17 and 18 September, equipping 427 first- and second-year students with vital career awareness and employability skills. The two-day initiative offered exposure to emerging technologies, career pathways, and practical preparation for future opportunities, enabling students to make more informed academic and professional choices.
The two-day programme was organised with the objective of equipping students with relevant knowledge and skills to make informed career decisions and prepare themselves for higher studies and employment. The sessions focused on the importance of continuous learning and developing competencies that respond to the changing demands of the workplace.
The programme was facilitated by Mr. Lyander, Mr. Susai, Mr. Neethi, Ms. Jenifer and Ms. Arularasi, who engaged the students through interactive sessions and discussions. Key areas covered included competitive examinations, Artificial Intelligence (AI), technical skills, employability skills, career planning and other future-ready competencies.
The sessions encouraged students to identify their career interests, understand emerging opportunities and recognise the importance of continuously upgrading their knowledge and skills. The discussions also highlighted the need to combine academic learning with practical and employability-oriented competencies.
As part of the programme, students were introduced to the Wadhwani LMS online learning platform and enrolled to access a range of skill development courses and certification opportunities. The initiative encouraged students to make effective use of digital learning platforms and continue their professional development beyond the classroom.
