Don Bosco Arts and Science College, Chennai , organised its first ever mega Intercollegiate Cultural Fest, JIVE’23

 

(Don Bosco Arts & Science College, Chennai) – The Student Council and Cultural Club of Don Bosco Arts and Science College, Chennai , organized its first ever mega Intercollegiate Cultural Fest, JIVE’23, on March 13 and 14 with the theme “Choose life! Say no to drugs! It hosted participants from around 200+ colleges (Arts and Science, Medical and Engineering) in and around Chennai. The cultural fest had 17 on and off-stage events in which 1250 students from various colleges like Loyola, Stella Maris, Patrician, Gurunanak, WCC, MGC, St. Thomas, St. Joseph’s, MGR University, Vels University, Madras University, Stanley Medical College and Ramachandra Medical College participated.

 

Jive’23 was a platform to create awareness and stop the use of substances among youngsters to escape the harsh realities of life. All the events and competitions were centred around the theme. Over 50 celebrities from the media industry supported the cause and were present for the event. Mr Vignesh Antony, Kalakka Povadhu Yaaru Season 7 Winner was the compère for the event.

 

Earlier, a promo event with street theatre and music performances were held on March 11 at the Bessy Beach Chennai and various celebrities posted their wishes for JIVE’23 on their social media spaces.

 

Mrs Prabavathy Nakkheeran, CEO of Nakkheeran Digital Media, Mr Sathish Charan, Director and Mr Sibi Marappan, Executive Producer, Rowdy Pictures along with the Chief Patrons of the College, Rev. Dr. Praveen Peter, the Principal, Rev. Fr. Rajkumar, The Secretary and Rev. Fr. Ernest Rosario, the Director inaugurated the fest. The Jive Anthem composed by Master Christo Daniel, M. Sc. Visual Communication student from Don Bosco College was released during the function by Mr Sibi Marappan.

 

On day one, on-stage events like Battle of Bands, Ramp Walk and Choreo Night and off-stage events like solo singing, rap battle, solo dance, adaptune, photography and insta reels were held. On day two on-stage events like Variety show, off-stage events like Cook with Comali, Face painting, Art from Junk, Connectionz, JAM, Poetry writing and the Title Event Mr and Ms Jive were held. Eminent Judges from the field judged the events.

 

The fest also had some special events like the Live in Concert of Chilla Chilla fame Vaisagh and Band, Special performance of Vaisagh and Pawan Alex, Single launch of the Tamil Film Ghosty by Think Music India for which Music Director Sam CS, Director of the film, Mr Kalyan, Vijay TV Fame Tiger Thangadurai and Mr Santhosh, VP- ThinkMusic India were present. On the second day, two prominent bands the Gud Isai and the Vezham Band made their performances, and the cast and crew of the Tamil film N4 came in for their Trailer Launch.

 

Jive ’23 was powered by Aachi Masala and co-sponsored by Poorvika, Cream Stone, Deeda Electronics and Coco-Cola. The gift sponsors were Hapipola, Printwear, Freeing India and 24K VIP Saloon.

 

The Valedictory function was held on the second day and Love Today fame, Mr Vijay Varadharaj was present for the same along with his youtube team ,Temple Monkeys. Mr Abinash Ganapathy, Actor and Model and Ms Shireen Zithara, CEO of Smile Planners also graced the occasion. Winners of various events received their awards and the overall Championship was won by the Patrician College of Arts and Science. The event was coordinated by the cultural coordinators of the DBCC college, Ms Sanjana Muralidharan and Ms Krishna Priya. The hard work and dedication of the Student Council members culminated in the resounding success of the fest.
