(Don Bosco College, Panjim) – To mark the occasion of International Women’s Day, the Women Cell of Don Bosco College, Panjim in collaboration with the Red Ribbon Club organised a session on ‘HIV and Women Related Health Issue’ for the female students and staff of the college. The session was delivered by Dr Yamuna Barreto, a renowned obstetrician and gynaecologist. She is a much sought after consultant for various problems related to women’s health across India as well as abroad. Currently, She consults at Alfa Clinic in Margao.
The session opened with an introduction about the speaker given by Miss Divya Kerkar from TY BSW. The session was conducted to create awareness about HIV and women related health issues and how one can prevent themselves from getting the disease. Dr Barreto also shed light on the various options available for treatment to the . The session ended with a token of appreciation presented to the speaker followed by the vote of thanks proposed by Miss Anisha Lobo from the FY MSW. The session was a very illuminating one that enriched the DBC staff and students with knowledge of prevention methods of potential ailments.
