It was a wonderful opportunity to understand heart touching stories of the inmates. It was an insightful experience for all the students and staff. Everyone returned home not only with the memories but also with some valuable message that they will definitely hold throughout their life

(Don Bosco College Mampetta, Kerala) – The students of B.Com final year visited Santhwanam Old Age Home, Chathamangalam on 21st December 2022 and spent a fruitful day with the inmates. The students chose this place as there is an alarming increase of old-age homes which is a matter of serious concern.

People moved from large extended family system to a nuclear family. They don’t have enough time to take care of their parents and gradually parents become a burden for them. And for the elderly, a roof over their heads is a critical need. The staff and students of Don Bosco College Mampetta felt that a visit of this kind to an old age home will benefit the inmates and also will be an eye opener for the students. The students interacted with them and distributed some food.
