Egresados del Instituto Salesiano de Estudios Superiores “Padre Miguel Bonuccelli” (ISES) de Río Grande, Argentina celebraron en octubre el acto de colación de grado.

(ISES “Padre Miguel Bonuccelli”, Río Grande) – The Salesian Institute of Higher Studies “Father Miguel Bonuccelli” , based in Río Grande, in the South Argentina Province, held its graduation ceremony last October for the delivery of diplomas to 32 new teachers, graduating in the three courses offered by the institute: Initial Education, Primary Education, and Music Education. The speciality of this year’s edition was the delivery of diplomas to the first class of music teachers.

This program was launched in 2017 with the aim of training Music teachers capable of teaching, generating and transmitting the artistic knowledge and charismatic values necessary for the integral formation of people and the construction of a more just society.

The ceremony took place in the “San Juan Bosco” parish church and saw the participation of the entire Salesian community, family members, and friends of the new teachers. The neo-teachers, in one of the most touching moments of the ceremony, took on the commitment to dedicate themselves to teaching with those most in need and represented this responsibility by lighting a candle each, so that all the lights together formed a great light to thus symbolize the light of God’s tenderness and love for every person they will meet in the classrooms and outside.

We have dreamed of it for many years, but now we have the first graduates of the Training Course for Music Teachers. As Don Bosco said: ‘A Salesian house without music is like a body without a soul’

– Claudia Simón, Rector of the Institute

He also highlighted the lessons learned by the team during their time at the Institute: “For many of you last year, internships seemed impossible, dreams vanished … But, together, we learned not to let any obstacle put us down and moved by hope, we tried to find a solution … This is how we met managers and teachers who opened the virtual doors of their classrooms and schools and their hearts, and we understood that it was possible to practice Teaching through the digital medium.”

In conclusion, the Rector said: “As a community, we are pleased because, the objectives set have largely been achieved, and the result is you: the new teachers who leave this Salesian house today with the certainty that it will always be ‘your home’. Educators who take on the responsibility and commitment to exercise their ministry and their profession on the basis of an ethics anchored to human and evangelical values, eager to listen, respecting the reality of every boy and girl.”

ISES is an Institute of Higher Education that is part of the Salesian house in Rio Grande, which issues certifications valid at the national level since 1979 and is characterized by a constant effort of academic updating and its educational-pastoral proposal in a perspective of integral education.

After 42 years of work, it continues to train professionals committed to inclusive education as an asset from which no one is excluded.
