Inauguration and Blessing of Don Bosco College Bengaluru, India

 

(Don Bosco College Bengaluru, Karnataka) – The inauguration of Don Bosco College, TC Palya, Bengaluru on 9th March, 2023 was a much-awaited historic moment that was graced by the presence of Rev. Fr. Miguel Angel (General Councillor for Youth Ministry), Rev. Fr. Biju Michael (Regional Councillor for South Asia), Rev. Fr. Jose Koyickal (Provincial, Bangalore Province), Rev. Fr. Shalbin, the Vice Provincial, Rev. Fr. Joy (Economer), Monsignor C. Francis Monsignor S. Jayanathan, Rev. Fr. Alex (Rector, Visvadeep) and Rev. Fr. Bosco (Rector, Kristu Jyothi College).

 

The Inauguration started with cutting the ribbon at the gate, followed by the traditional ‘arti’ with flowers, incense and light.

 

The statue of Don Bosco, the Patron of our College was unveiled by Rev. Fr. Biju Michael. Rev. Fr. Miguel Angel inaugurated the main building that was followed by prayers and blessing of the entire campus. Rev. Fr. Yesudass, Assistant Director, Don Bosco College, started the programme emphasising the need to dream the impossible dream and to walk the Don Bosco Way. The invocation dance was followed by the lighting of the auspicious lamp by the guests. The welcome address was delivered by Rev. Fr. Alex (Rector, Visvadeep) and stressed that Don Bosco College would cater to the needs of the locality with the state-of-art infrastructure and dedicated faculty members that would be affordable.

 

The Presidential Address was delivered by Rev. Fr. Jose Koyickal, who appreciated the efforts of everyone and accentuated that the DBC Bengaluru would serve the ‘poorest of the poor’ and would equip the youth to achieve their dreams.

 

Rev. Fr. Miguel Angel delivered the inaugural address and shared his message for the students insisting with them to make use of opportunities, to dream big and to have the patience to achieve their dreams. Addressing the faculty members he stressed on the need of loving-kindness and preparing students for life.

 

Rev. Fr. Biju Michael threw light on the role of an educational institutions and the need to follow the Don Bosco pedagogy.

 

Monsignor C. Francis conveyed the greetings from the Archbishop, Rev. Dr. Peter Machado and appreciated the efforts of all the Salesians. He stated that Don Bosco College, TC Palya, is the fulfilment of the dreams of many people in this locality and hoped that the College would soon be a University. The event was a platform to acknowledge and appreciate the hard work by felicitating Mr. Adithya, the Architect, Mr. Tom, the MD of Gina Engineering Company Private Limited, Mr. Syed Khader, the Structural Engineer and all those who played their role in the construction, completion and visualisation of the dream, Don Bosco College. The event concluded with the whole gathering singing the praises of the Blessed Virgin Mary as the College Choir sang the ‘Ave Maria’.
