(ANS – Rome) – A heartfelt appeal to sow peace and reconciliation, addressed to young people from every corner of the world, comes to life in a video released today across all digital channels of the Salesian Family and published on the website symjubilee.org. Fr. Fabio Attard, Rector Major of the Salesians of Don Bosco, and Sr. Chiara Cazzuola, Mother General of the Daughters of Mary Help of Christians, have called on young people worldwide to become builders of a disarmed, reconciled, and hope-filled future.

“Let yourselves be guided by Providence,” said Fr. Fabio in the video message, “just like Don Bosco who, in the dream he had at the age of nine, was told: ‘This is your field; this is where you must work.’ You too are called to cultivate peace in your own field, wherever your life takes place: your family, your school, your community.”

Inspired by Don Bosco’s famous dream at the age of nine, in which the young John received the mission to guide and transform hearts with kindness, the message calls each young person to care for their own “field”: their life, family, school, and community.

“Pope Francis has reminded us many times to be builders and artisans of peace,” Sr. Chiara explained, “to make every one of our communities a ‘house of peace,’ where, as he said, we learn to defuse hostility through dialogue, where justice is practiced, and forgiveness is safeguarded.”

It is also an invitation to create digital content that tells stories of “seeds of peace”: concrete, everyday gestures of reconciliation, inclusion, dialogue, and fraternity, a practical way to counter the culture of hate and spread peace, including through social media.

The video, subtitled in five languages, will also be shared with the global support of Salesian schools, youth centers, parishes, missions, and communities. However, the initiative is open to all young people: digital contributions can be posted on personal or community social media using the hashtags #SYMJubilee (Salesian Youth Movement) and #Peacebuilders, or created directly within the dedicated space: padlet.com/symjubilee.
