The new IUS website

After several months of work, the General Coordination of the Salesian Institutions of Higher Education (IUS) is pleased to present the new IUS web portal to the whole Congregation:

During the last IUS General Assembly (2016) the development of a specific Web Portal was outlined as one of the strategic guidelines to strengthen the communication of the IUS network.

“The website is intended as an instrument that offers relevant information on IUS all over the world, and which allows efficient communication within the network and towards the Congregation, the Church and society”.

This meant dedicating human, economic and technical resources to the project.

This new product was made possible thanks to a collaboration agreement between the Ministry of Youth Ministry and the Salesian Polytechnic University of Ecuador which allowed for the design, development, management and administration of the web portal.

The portal is presented in the most used languages within the IUS: English, Spanish, Portuguese and Italian. The information offered refers to the identity, mission, organization, data and history of the IUS; you can find all the documentation relating to this sector; in addition, the site allows to learn about and access each of the 95 IUS currently operating. Of course, there is a space for news and events. Information on academic networks and scientific publications produced by the network’s institutions has also been included. Finally, a section also lists an account of Salesian residences and college hostels.

The portal’s management is entrusted to an administrator, with the collaboration of a reporter network disseminated in each of the IUS, a solution that fosters participation, animation and joint management. The portal was developed using the WordPress platform to facilitate access and administration by correspondents worldwide. It is equipped with a server that guarantees greater speed and lower latency from anywhere in the world one connects to it.

On the part of the General Coordination of the IUS, the invitation is to visit the portal and make your suggestions and advice by writing to the address:
