Paying attention to the needs of each region, the initiatives were focused human dignity and the fight against coronavirus
The Salesian University Center of São Paulo, has decided to cooperate with the educational community during the covid-19 pandemic. Even with social distancing, virtual classes, UNISAL has decided to take several actions that teach faith and social contribution which helps to promote the awareness of human life.
Students and teachers from the fashion department in the Americana Campus, have volunteered in making masks since the quarantine began. The donations were given to police officers from the cities of Americana and Santa Barbara D’Oeste, who are fighting on the front lines against the new coronavirus
With the purpose of donating to hospitals and health posts, students and staff of the Lorena Campus have produced protection masks. The material was donated by the staff of UNISAL and the following professors Thiago Bimestre, César Botura and Vinícius Hasmann dos Santos. The students of the Mechanical Engineering deparment designed the mask and worked with along with the teachers in the laboratories of the institution . By early May, 50 masks had already been made. 20 were donated to the Frei Galvão Hospital, and 30 to the Health Center, located in the city of Guaratinguetá.
In other campuses, food was collected for various social institutions that were in urgent needs. With their hearts and hands, students and teachers from the Piracicaba and Lorena campuses organized and distributed the donations to nursing homes and shelters in need.
The University Ministry Universidade (PdU) of UNISAL, has also strengthened the faith of the educational community with online activities. Such as online Mass, podcasts with messages of hope and special campaigns for the celebration of Maria Auxiliadora.
In a video posted on social media, the college Dean of UNISAL stated, although these are challenging times,the institution is unified in the goal of maintaining an education of excellence, reinforcing the values that Don Bosco left as a legacy.
