(Don Bosco College Golaghat, Assam)  – The institution. Don Bosco College, Golaghat, a NAAC-accredited “B+” institution, organized a National Workshop on Research Methodology & Proposals on March 11. The Research & Publication Cell organized the workshop in collaboration with the Department of Political Science, Don Bosco College in Manlio Research Centre. Students, researchers and academic professionals from more than five colleges and universities represented.

 

The workshop featured three technical sessions. Rev. Anto Paul, Principal of North East Institute of Social Sciences and Research Dimapur, Nagaland, discussed the basics of social science research in the first technical session. He dwelt on different types of research designs, methods, and the steps to do research.

 

In the second technical session, Professor Yatindra Singh Sisodia, Director of the Madhya Pradesh Institute of Social Science Research, elaborated on the Basic Tenets of Research and Developing Effective Research Proposals. He interacted with the students and scholars to discover various challenges in proposal writing and instilled the curiosity to aspire for research proposals.

 

During the third technical session, Dr. Piyali Dutta, Assistant Professor, Department of Political Science, provided a comprehensive guide on writing review articles, publishing them in journals and websites, and presenting them in ISBN book publications. She also offered the opportunity to publish the research projects in the academic writings in the college journal of Don Bosco International Journal of Humanities and Social Sciences with ISSN: 3048-6823 (Online).

 

The day commenced with spot registrations, followed by the lighting of the lamp and welcome address by Dr. Fr. A. Amaladoss, Principal of Don Bosco College, Golaghat. Dr. Tapan Saikia, Associate Professor and Research Coordinator at Birangana Sati Sadhani Rajyik Vishwavidyalaya, delivered the keynote address and released a book on “Empowering the Nation: Enhancing Financial Literacy for a Prosperous Future.”

 

Dr. Bulbuli Boruah, Principal of Hemo Prova Borbora Girls’ College, Golaghat, graced the valedictory function and distributed certificates to the participants. The workshop witnessed active participation from students, research scholars, and faculty members from various institutions. Dr. Piyali Dutta, Research Coordinator at Don Bosco Research Cell and Publication, and Asst. Prof. Mirghakhi Goswami, HOD, Department of Political Science, DBCG, successfully coordinated the event.
