Presentation of Rector Major's Strenna 2023, Fr. Ángel Fernández Artime
Presentation of Rector Major's Strenna 2023, Fr. Ángel Fernández Artime

(ANS – Rome) – Since the time of Don Bosco, the message of the Strenna has accompanied the life of Salesian communities throughout the world, like a guideline that traces paths of education, evangelization, and development concerning the signs of the times and the life of the Church. For this reason, the presentation of the Strenna message is a moment awaited with keen interest by the entire Salesian Family. For the year to come, the message is already ready, under the banner of the motto identified by the Rector Major: “AS THE YEAST IN TODAY’S HUMAN FAMILY. The Lay Dimension of the Family of Don Bosco.” And the date has already been set: Tuesday, December 27, at 4 p.m. (UTC+1), broadcast live worldwide via streaming.

Following the now consolidated tradition, the X Successor of Don Bosco Fr. Ángel Fernández Artime, will present the message during a courtesy visit to the community of the Generalate of the Daughters of Mary Help of Christians (FMA).

There, in the presence of the Mother General of the FMA, Mother Chiara Cazzuola, her Sisters of the FMA General Council, the community of the Generalate, and some members of its General Council, the Rector Major will first offer a brief off-the-cuff presentation of the text of the 2023 Strenna.

Next, the video that accompanies and illustrates the meaning of the Strenna’s message with the power of images will be screened.

The message’s explanation is to then continue with an interview wherein Fr. Á.F. Artime answers questions from two members of the Salesian Family – an FMA Sister and a Salesian Cooperator. Thanks to their questions, and to the always timely answers of the Rector Major, it will be possible to learn more about the details, implications, and multiple readings of the message.

All this will be made accessible to all interested through live streaming on ANS social channels – the Facebook page and YouTube channel – where both the video and other moments of the presentation shall be broadcast in five languages: Italian, English, Spanish, French, and Portuguese.
